This message will set the tone for the rest of your relationship with your lead. A great first impression will lead to:

When you claim a lead, you will see we have pre-populated a template as a starting point for you to use.

Read this template carefully. While it covers all bases, it is generic and contains some steps which may be unnecessary or inappropriate at the time of matching. Additionally, there may be things you need to ask that are missing. I.e. while the template is a great starting point and shows you the shape of what your message might look like, we do not recommend using the template without tailoring it to your specific needs.

Pay attention to things you may need to leave out of your first message, too. For example, the template mentions asking for partner access. While this is sometimes appropriate to include in your first message, often this may not be appropriate. It may be better to build trust with the client first and understand more about their needs and communication style before asking this.

Additionally, we do not recommend stating prices as part of your matching message. It is better to focus first on introducing yourself, building trust, and setting out next steps at first.
